Final Thoughts
For someone new to whetstone like me I find this difficult to use, especially that I'm new to sharpening knives with a whetstone, it is hard to maintain a consistent angle. After spending time, I find that it didn't sharpen my knife as well as I'd hope. Again, it did sharpen two of my carbon steel chef knives, but it took me several tries and a long time to get it sharpen the way I want it. I may need to spend more time using this whetstone.
So, If you have use a whetstone before and if you're looking for an affordable one, You can try the Kota Japan Whetstone.
For now I will use my ever reliable electric sharpener from Chef's Choice, the Trizor 15XV has really been a reliable companion.
